Incentivize Mixed Use Development in Metropolitan Regions
Many suburban communities in America remain auto-centric, if not completely auto-dependent, because conventional suburban zoning typically forbids mixing residential and commercial uses. Such existing regulations inhibit land use efficiency and mandate sprawl. To check the sprawling of America and all of its unsavory consequences, the Office of Urban Policy ought to offer financial incentives for mixed-use development in suburban communities, preferably via tax credits.
